A letter to God
One day when I was sad,
Thought everything in life
Was, is and will be bad.
Thought I couldn’t tolerate it,
I couldn’t bear with it,
Thought, I was done with it.
But then would I give up so easily?
Nay! I said to myself,
Not so easily.
Then what should I do?
Where should I go?
Whom should I tell it to?
I decided, and made up my mind,
I will write a letter
To the Almighty who is bound to be kind.
Started writing the usual stuff,
Hello! How are you! What’s going on up there?
Then thought whom am I going to bluff?
He knows everything already,
Don’t think His memory’s so poor,
Which needs a reminding about a little girl,
Who wants her life to go steady and sure.
But still I wrote,
With a neat handwriting,
And with beautiful quotes.
Only complaining,
That He forgot to take my care.
And day on and day off,
I kept on writing.
Page by page, line by line,
I started realizing,
My life was just fine.
Before I realized,
My letter became a book,
And writing down the last pages,
I decided to have a look.
Reading and rereading,
My worries and problems,
Seemed to me as nothing.
All the troubles mountain high,
Now looked small and insignificant,
And I could easily pass them by.
Now I knew,
That my letter had been read,
He had heard me,
One day when I was sad,
Thought everything in life
Was, is and will be bad.
Thought I couldn’t tolerate it,
I couldn’t bear with it,
Thought, I was done with it.
But then would I give up so easily?

Not so easily.
